This enormous Lombardian Gothic cathedral dates from the beginning of the 14th century. The construction took about 500 years!
It is the 2nd largest cathedral of the world, after the Saint Peter in Rome and the cathedral of Sevilla in Spain.
The Duomo is long 158 meters, hight 108 meters and width 93 meters. Built of marble from the quarry of the lake Maggiore.
The roof of the Duomo (can also be visited) is magnificent!! Decorated with 3400 statues from monsters, holy figures and animals. Take the lift or stairs to the roof of the church for a unique experience! Reservate in advance!
